Staircase finials in glass and crystal were once the finishing flourish of grand homes, and the Abubakir family has gathered hundreds of them. This book presents their private collection with photography by Harald Gottschalk in Portugal and Brazil, Flávia Abubakir's own reflections and a nineteenth-century catalogue. A quiet, specialist subject treated with real care.
